These recipes are my family’s favourites which they enjoy and request for repeatedly. They are fail proof and repeatable by anyone with minimal cooking skill.
Air Fried Chicken Curry Puff
I found using a pastry between short crust and puff pastry produces a tasty alternative to the flaky spiral puff pastry. Also, using my air fryer (instead of deep frying) for these curry puffs is a much healthier version.
Braised Yee Mee with Mushroom & Bean Sprout (乾燒伊麵)
I like the taste and texture of yee mee and when braised, they acquire the flavour of the sauce added. They go really well with crunchy bean sprout and tender mushroom.
Home-made Rice Noodles (河粉做法)
They are easy to make but the process does involve a bit of time and effort. Once made, they can be fried or cooked in soup.
Mango Blueberry Crumble - with Almond
What better way to enjoy them is to to put them together in one dish and top with my favourite crumble with chopped almond. Ofcourse if you add a dollop of ice cream as well, it will make Mango Blueberry Crumble the most perfect dessert.
Steamed Belly Pork with Yam or Taro aka Wu Tau Kau Yoke (芋頭扣肉)
The pork and yam slices are tender and flavoursome and the sauce is fragrant and delicious.
Spicy Crispy Cauliflower
The air fried version was tasty, required less work and no deep frying. I am not fond of deep frying, however I like the deep fried version as they were more crispy.
Aromatic Sweet (aka Swiss) Wings (瑞士雞翅)
The use of soy sauce, rock sugar and aromatics give these chicken wings a sweet aromatic taste and a gleaming glossy look that is so appealing.
Mapo Tofu (麻婆豆腐)
Wind down the chilli heat scale several notches and you will love that wonderfully silky soft bean curd and pork mince in the delicious spicy bean sauce.
Pandan Chiffon Cake - So Soft & Fragrant!
The proportion of egg white to egg yolks, the baking temperature and the type of cake tin all play a part to ensure a success.
Lu Rou Fan (滷肉飯) - Braised Pork on Rice
Lu Rou Fan (滷肉飯) is fragrant with a thick tasty sauce and the pork meat is very tender and flavoursome
Crispy Mini Sponge Cakes (Kuih Bahulu)
It is slightly sweet, has a spongy centre with a crispy exterior. I have air-fried my mini cakes after baking for an extra crispy exterior.
Chocolate Hazelnut Brownie - with reduced sugar
With half the usual amount of sugar, this chocolate hazelnut brownie still tastes pretty sweet to me
Crispy Roast Pork - crunchy and flavoursome! (脆皮烧肉)
I love roast pork that is not too fat, has a nice crackling that is crispy and not hard on the teeth. It is important, for me, that the pork meat is tender and flavoursome.

It’s the crispy eggy exterior and the spicy soft centre that makes begedil so appetising.

Lemongrass pork steak is best grilled but you could pan-fry it too. I prefer to use the air fryer for a clean and easy way of grilling these pork steaks.

Spicy Beef Stew with Barley
For this spicy beef stew with barley, I added fresh chilli, paprika and ground cumin to give it an added kick. The barley soaks up some of the the gravy and gives it extra body.
