These recipes are my family’s favourites which they enjoy and request for repeatedly. They are fail proof and repeatable by anyone with minimal cooking skill.
Chicken Yakitori
Today, I used my air fryer to grill the meat. It is normal for the chicken pieces to be separated with green onion or scallion.
Char Kway Teow (Fried Rice Noodle) (炒粿條)
Although the steps are simple, it is not an easy dish to get right. The tricks are to get the heat up high, a quick stir fry and use the right amount of sauce.
Tomato Egg Noodles (蕃茄蛋炒麵)
The slippery smooth noodles absorb all of the sweet and sour taste of the tomato egg sauce and taste great with the crispy and salty SPAM.
Air-fried Ngoh Hiang (Five-Spice Pork & Prawn Roll) (五香)
The contents of Ngoh Hiang includes minced pork, water chestnut, prawn and onion whereas lobak is mainly pork strips.
Baked Salmon Cakes
Salmon cakes are healthy and delicious and very easy to make. These salmon cakes are baked using an air fryer.
Kuih Kapit aka Love Letter
They are a wafer like, sweet, fragrant and crispy biscuit made from eggs and coconut milk.
Dry Laksa Chicken
I use home-made laksa paste to marinade the chicken drumsticks and then fry the marinaded chicken till golden.
Air-fried Lemongrass Pork Chop
Lemongrass pork chop is best grilled but you could pan-fry it too. I prefer to use the air fryer for a clean and easy way of grilling these pork chops.
Thai Green Chicken Curry - Creamy
The ingredients that distinguish this curry from other curries is the use of lots of green chillies, shrimp paste, kaffir lime and Thai basil leaves.
Roast Duck - Easy!
The skin was quite crispy and had the right colour and the meat was flavoursome and juicy.
Braised Beef Brisket (红烧牛腩)
We love this dish too - we like the super tender meat in the very flavoursome sauce.
Butter Cookies - extra crispy, crumbly & buttery
They are crispier than butter cookies made with wheat flour.
Assam Fish - tangy!
Assam fish has all the flavours to tickle one's taste buds - spicy, sour, sweet, salty and umami.
Hash Brown - Crispy! Easy!
The trick is in washing the starch from the potatoes and getting the potatoes very very dry.
Chicken Tikka Curry
The Chicken Tikka paste includes the usual spice ingredients of cardamon pod, clove, coriander seed, cumin seed, cinnamon, onion, ginger & garlic.
Fried Dough with Glutinous Rice aka Kap Chung
We simply love the combination of taste and texture of kap chung - slightly crispy and salty fried dough with soft, tender and sweet glutinous rice.
Home-made Laksa (Paste & Noodle Soup)
I use my own home-made version of laksa paste. My laksa consists of yellow and laksa noodles (thick rice noodles) with prawn, fishball and egg, served in a rich, savoury and spicy coconut milk based gravy.

These Thai flavour oven-roasted chicken wings are juicy and tender and definitely finger licking good and so easy to make.
